Grappling Rules    
 


To Win
Grappling contests are won in the following ways:
1.  Competitors 12 years of age and under-points or referees decision (no submissions)
2.  Competitors 13 years of age and older - points, submission, or referee's decision.

In the even of a tie at the end of the match, the referee will allow one, one-minute overtime to determine the winner.  After this, if the tie is not broken, the referee shall render a decision.  The referee's decision is final for all matches.  A winner will not be decided by a coin toss.

Point Awards
Points are awarded for the following:

2 points Take down for a kneeling starting position (Control position for 3 seconds)

3 points Takedown from a standing position

3 points Passing the guard (Control position for 3 seconds)

2 points Sweep from guard position

2 points Knee on stomach (3 seconds)

4 points Top mount (3 seconds)

4 points Back mount with hooks in (3 seconds)
